Iraqi police source said on Saturday that at least ten people were killed and 70 others wounded when a car bomb exploded in a car exhibition in eastern Baghdad.

The source told Xinhua that a car bomb exploded in a district of Sadr City in eastern Baghdad, killing at least ten.

He also said 70 people were wounded in the blast, noting that some of them were seriously injured and were rushed to hospitals.

The security forces have cordoned off the scene in a bid to prevent further attacks.
The blast came a day after the explosion of a truck bomb in a market in the same city, which killed more than 50 people and wounding over 100 others.

The security situation in Iraq has drastically deteriorated since June 2014, when bloody clashes broke out between security forces and Islamic State militants. Enditem
