Ten African countries will take part in the 2019 International African Authenticity Festival (FILAA) to be held from November 15-17 in Benin’s economic capital Cotonou, organizers said on Saturday.

Intended to enhance African clothing heritage in all its diversity, the 2019 FILAA will see the participation of fashion designers from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria and Togo, promoter Abass Bello, said at press conference on Saturday in Cotonou.

“There is a clear shift from traditional African clothing and also from cultural, linguistic and moral values to the European models, causing thus the new African generation to a gradual loss of its cultural identity,” he said.

“Hence the need for a back to our source, a strong value”, Abass Bello, fashion designer and promoter of FILAA also said. Enditem
